With the aim of improving the quality and gradually improving university governance, on the morning of March 2, 2021, Hanoi University of Pharmacy held a meeting to review the international cooperation activities in 2020 and proposed the orientation of some focus activities in 2021. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, Vice Rector, Responsible and Executive; MSc. Pham Van Quyen, Vice Rector; together with the Heads / in charge of units and departments having international cooperation activities and the coordinator of cooperation projects and programs.

With the tradition of more than 100 - year
pharmacist training, on August 18, 2020, Hanoi University of Pharmacy was ranked
the first in the top 30 universities according to the University Performance
Metrics (UPM) System.

This system has been conducted
by researcher group of Hanoi National University. This is the product of the
National Science and Technology Program on educational science chaired by the Vietnam
Ministry of Education and Training.

On August 7th 2020, Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP) held a kick off meeting and signing ceremony of cooperation of the project “Enhancing the quality of the student output assessment system at pharmaceutical universities, and the quality of pharmacists by e-learning system in Vietnam” with Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP) and Yakuzemi Informative Education Center Co.,Ltd, Japan.

session by PhD thesis of Nguyen Khac Tiep took place at the Catholic University
of Louvain (UCL), Belgium on June 17, 2020 (online via Microsoft Teams).

Viet Nam University Ranking 2019 by UPM (University Performance Metrics) was published in the morning of January 2nd 2020. The evaluation criterions include: (i) The research scope – the total number of integrated articles which duplicates after filtering from 2 databases sources of Web of Science and Scopus of Universities published in the period of 2015-2019 (accounting for 45%); (ii) The productivity of research – average index of articles per lecturer and researcher (accounting for 25%); (iii) The quality of research – average citation index collected in 2019 for articles published in the period of 2014-2015 (accounting for 25%); (iv) The Internal publication index – the percentage of articles written by Vietnamese authors (accounting for 5%).

Implementing of Official Dispatch No. 230/K2ĐT-VP issued by
Administration of Science Technology and Training – Ministry of
Health, in the afternoon of 24th March, 2020, Hanoi University of Pharmacy held
a training course on the necessary knowledge for HUP’s last-year students about
the COVID-19 pandemic in order to be ready to participate in supporting the
medical system and community in preventing this dangerous disease. Assoc. Prof.
Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai – Vice Party Committee Secretary, Vice Rector of HUP,
attended and gave an orientation speech for students.

Replying the positive feedbacks of the first donation
of hand sanitizers produced by HUP and the need of hand sanitizers of some
hospitals, health centers and organizations located in Hanoi, in the morning of
February 20th 2020, Hanoi University of Pharmacy continuously donated
hand sanitizers for the second time to 12 hospitals and organizations including
Vietnam National Union of Health Workers, National Hospital of Tropical
Diseases, National Hospital of Lung Diseases, Vietnam National Cancer Hospital,
E Hospital, Dong Da General Hospital, National Hospital of Endocrinology, Hanoi
Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, etc. and especially French Embassy and
Italian Embassy - two international organizations located in Hanoi. The number
of hand sanitizers donated by HUP this time was more than 1,000 liters.

Aiming at joining hands with community to repel COVID-19 disease, on February 18th 2020, in the Council Hall, Hanoi University of Pharmacy donated 2,000 liters of hand sanitizers manufactured by HUP’s lecturers and technicians to 10 practical hospitals and some organizations located in Hanoi.
