Pharmacity and the Hanoi University of Pharmacy form partnership to offer scholarships and internships to top pharmacy students Developing pharmacist talent to benefit the people of Vietnam

At January 18th 2022, a ceremony held at Hanoi University of Pharmacy campus located at 13-15 Le Thanh Tong, to announce the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi University of Pharmacy ( the leading university for training of pharmacist) and Pharmacity Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (the leading retail pharmacy chain in Vietnam) and was signed with the goal of strengthening the cooperation between Enterprises - Universities - Institutes in training and career development for community pharmacists and graduates.
Under the
new partnership, Pharmacity will offer scholarships to 50 pharmacy 4th
year students of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, starting from the academic year
2022-2023. In addition to this, Pharmacity will offer 100 internships for the
final year students at Pharmacity stores in Northern Vietnam. These programs
aim to support the development of local talent into nationally recognized
pharmacists who can serve the people of Vietnam every day in Pharmacity stores.
Pharmacists
play an essential role in the daily life of all Vietnamese people, and this has
been highlighted during the pandemic. Pharmacity is proud of its team of 3,000 experienced
pharmacists who go above and beyond to care for customers – from the safe
supply of medication to giving advice to local communities. Pharmacity highly
values its pharmacists and offers quality training and career development
programs. Pharmacity and the Hanoi University of Pharmacy will exchange knowledge
and best practices to support the long-term training of pharmacists and
graduates.

About Hanoi University of Pharmacy
Regarded as one of the oldest universities in
Vietnam, the Hanoi University of Pharmacy originated from the Indochina Medical
School, which was established in 1902. In 1914, the Pharmacy Department was
formed and this marks the 108th anniversary of pharmacy training. After the
successful August revolution, the school was renamed Vietnam University of
Medicine and Pharmacy and in 1961, the Vietnam University of Medicine and
Pharmacy was separated into 2 Universities of Medicine and University of
Pharmacy under the Ministry of Health.
Since that
time, the University has developed a prestigious reputation for training
pharmaceutical students.
Up to now, Hanoi University of Pharmacy has trained
16,236 pharmacists at university level, 3,480 pharmacists specializing in profession
I and II; 1,412 masters and 164 doctorates; Training products of the University
