Present at the Ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Chairman of the
University Council, secretary of Vietnam Communist party committee; Pr. Dr.
Nguyen Hai Nam – Hanoi University of Pharmacy’s rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh
Thi Thanh Hai - Deputy Secretary, the university’s vice rector; M. Pham Van
Quyen – university’s vice rector; members of the Executive Committee of the
Youth Union, and the Students’ Association, faculty leaders and the representatives of students and alumni.
For over 60 years of construction and development (1961
– 2021), 107 years of pharmaceutical educations (1914 -2021),
generations of lecturers and students at Hanoi University of Pharmacy have continuously
overcome challenges, hardships, never failed to elevate, building up to become one
of the top tiers National Centre for Research and Development of Pharmacy. The
University extolled its pioneering role in training highly qualified
pharmacists including more than 16.236 graduated
pharmacists, 3.480 postgraduate education juniors and seniors, 1.412 Master’s
degree holders and 164 Doctors of Philosophy in pharmacy. More than 50% of pharmaceutical workforces are those that graduated from the University. In addition, the
University also steadily held several courses, cultivating, keeping pharmacists,
healthcare workers on track with up-to-date news, specialized hundreds of
foreign pharmacists from Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia.
Opening to the Ceremony, Pr., Dr. Nguyen Hai
Nam – the university’s rector gave an opening speech on the 60 years of
construction and development (1961 – 2021), and 107 years of consistent
Pharmacists Training (1914-2021). Speaking at the Ceremony, the Deputy Minister
of Health, Pr. Dr. Tran Van Thuan highly appreciated, congratulated on the
journey of 60 years of sustainable construction and development (1961 – 2021),
and tradition of 107 years of pharmacists training (1914 – 2021). This is an
honorable journey, achievements of all generations of leaders, faculty, students,
and alumni of the university. Pharmaceutical workforces from the Hanoi University
of Pharmacy have contributed effectively to the overall success of Health
sector of the country. These accomplishments, not only enhance the university’s
position and prestige, but also give positive impacts on Vietnam’s higher education system. The Deputy
Minister of Health suggested that the University should focus on the central
tasks in the upcoming years: continuing to hold a vital role in high-quality
Pharmacists Training; a strong driving force to achieve more in Education and
Training, in scientific research, successfully accomplish the assigned
political tasks, contributing effectively to the overall success of Health
sector of the country.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - the Deputy
Minister of Health, rewarded the Emulation Flag to Hanoi University of
Pharmacy, approved by the Prime Minister.
Having approved of the accomplishments of Hanoi University of Pharmacy’s faculties and
individuals, the Prime Minister awarded the Emulation Flag and certificate of
merit to faculties. The Minister of Health rewarded to individuals and collective
for their resilient efforts in the construction and the development of the
university.

Dear Prof. Dr Tran Van Thuan, member of the Communist
Party Committee, the Deputy Minister of Health,
Dear Delegates, Distinguished guest, teachers,
and students.
First and foremost, on behalf of members of
the Rector's Council, I would warmly welcome all representatives of health
institutions, universities, colleges, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies,
research institutions, and generations of leaders, faculty, students, and
alumni; as well as news agencies, to our
lovely Ceremony of 60 years of construction and development; and 107 years of
consistent Pharmacists Training at Hanoi University of Pharmacy
The small footage you just saw has depicted a
glorious era of the Hanoi University of Pharmacy. The university was originated
from the Indochina Medical and Pharmaceutical School, established by the French
Governors in 1902. In 1914, The Department of Pharmacy
was established, setting a milestone of our 107 years of consistent Pharmacist’s
training to this day. After Vietnam’s victorious August Revolution, The
Indochina Medical and Pharmaceutical University was renamed to Vietnam
Medical and Pharmaceutical University. Until 1961, Vietnam Medical and
Pharmaceutical University was split into Hanoi
Medical College and Hanoi College of Pharmacy, authorized by the Ministry of
Health. This was also a milestone for Hanoi University of Pharmacy’s, setting 60
years of independent constructions and growth to this day.
The college has a pioneering mission in 1) Education for high-quality workforces,
well-trained not only in professions but also in manners. 2) Scientific research,
with the aim to obtaining valuable creations, 3) Provide qualified services with
first-class quality, and applicable 4)
Comprehensive innovation in pharmacy fields, nurturing and assisting
startups in the spirit of international integration, based on promoting the
traditional page of more than 100 years of establishment and development of the
university.
Up to now, our university consists of 4195
alumni, students from PhD’s, Master’s degree programs, as well as students from
1st and 2nd level specialized pharmacy courses. With the team of 312 cadres,
lecturers, of whom there are 6 Professors,
37 Associate Professors, 55 Doctors, the foremost
experts in different Pharmacy fields.
In terms of overall scale of students and officials,
or the small area of 1.2 hectares on 13-15 Le Thanh Tong, our university is
small. However, in the past years, “Hanoi University of Pharmacy” has always
been one of the universities at the forefront of innovation and education. Not
only with its excellent admissions quality, but HUP also extolled its
pioneering role in training highly qualified pharmacists with more than 16.236

Former students from different generations now are holding vital positions in
local and center offices, faculties and companies, international and national
organizations. Every single one of their achievements are our pride, an
indispensable aspect of our university’s accomplishments, contributing positively
to Hanoi University of Pharmacy’s brand and reputation. The university acknowledged
the accompany by former students in the university’s event as employers,
experts, consultants, educational cooperation, and students’ assistances. Hanoi
University of Pharmacy’s students’ network has created a whole Hanoi’s Pharmacy
ecosystem, a national wide coverage.
With the pharmacy contributions and positive
effects on the Healthcare Industry, Hanoi University of Pharmacy has been nobly
awarded many honors by the Party and State: The 1st, 2nd class Labor Orders and
especially the “Labor Hero in the Innovation” Title.
Getting to those wonderful achievements is mainly
by the diligent efforts of leaders, lecturers, students, with the help of center,
local agencies, international and national organizations, business community
over the past 60 years.
In the past days, meeting former leaders,
administration officers, generations of university former teachers and
students, seeing joyful moments of return day, listening to touching stories in
the past, today’s generation of teachers and officers are just like living with
historical moments on development parts of the University. This has fueled a
lot of motivation, enthusiasm for today’s teachers and officers to continue
dedicating and taking care of Hanoi University of Pharmacy. From the past to
present and the future, traditional values are always the solid foundation for
HUP to
further development. Development
goal of the University to 2030 is to become a multidisciplinary, research-oriented, combine with professional practice
university, to be a renovative university for the first
step, truly the National leading training place for high-qualified workforce,
and the prestigious center of science, technology, and knowledge transfer in
region.
HUP is determined to maintain, construct and develop a professional and prestigious
educational environment, surely the destination for dreams, ambitions, where
students develop their passions, creativity,
where students learn how to self-control and take responsibility for their decisions, and where
students can practice adaptation ability to nowadays rapid-changing
globalization environment.
Leaders, lecturers, students and alumni
today, with the passion to contribute, solidarity and creativity, willing to
take responsibility responsible, continuing the tradition to spectacularly accomplished new
missions in the upcoming, innovative phase
In this grand ceremony, on behalf of members
of the Rector’s council, I truly appreciated the considerations of departments,
sectors, especially the Ministry of Health; professors, former teachers and
those who hold a rapport with the development of Hanoi
University of Pharmacy since the beginning more than half a century ago; with those
who are willing to dedicate themselves to the development of the brand of Hanoi University of
Pharmacy. I’m grateful of the salient commitments, the contributions of
generations of leaders and lecturers to improve
the reputation and brand of the University in the Region and in the World.
Sincerely, we appreciate the cooperation of
universities, colleges, medical facilities, institutions, organizations, enterprises
in supporting Hanoi University of Pharmacy over the past decades.
Once again, we wholeheartedly appreciate and
wishi delegates, lecturers’ good health, happiness, and prosperity. With strong
