Survey results on working situation of Pharmacists graduating from Hanoi University of Pharmacy in 2011 and the University training quality

To carry out the quality assurance plan for the
academic year 2012 - 2013, during the period from 7/2012 to 3/2013, the
Division of Testing & Quality Control has collected the information from
473 pharmacists who graduated from full time training system in 2011 on the job
status and feedback on the education quality of Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
The survey involved
251 pharmacists. The results showed that the rate of pharmacists who could find
a job was 82.5% after 3 months of graduation and 99.4% after 1 year; the rest (0.4%)
continued for further studying to improve their professional level. Most of these
pharmacists worked in Hanoi (70.5%), the rest worked
through in the northern provinces and in Ho Chi Minh City. The average
monthly income of 7 millions VND/month was made by pharmacists K61, 18% of whom which
had income over 10 millions VND /month. According to the survey, 32.8% pharmacists
felt satisfied with their income. 44.3% of pharmacists felt that their current
job was just a little satisfactory.
Most of pharmacists thought their
job was consistent with specialized knowledge which was provided in the
university. Most of them have been working in the field of medical marketing
and sales (medical representative, 35.8%) and in the hospital pharmacy (12.3%).
Those in Pharmaceutical manufacturing sector accounted for 10.3% and in training
sector were 9.1%, while in the other areas occupied from 2.1 to 7.8%.
In general, 68.2% pharmacist were
satisfied and 30.2% of pharmacists of K61, Hanoi University of Pharmacy expressed
the temporary satisfaction with the provided training program.
